Prakash Hinduja’s Hinduja Foundation Continues to Strive for Equal Education
The Hinduja Family, owners of the multi-billion-dollar Hinduja Group, is one of the UK's richest families. Through their philanthropy arm, The Hinduja Foundation, the family whose roots can be traced back to the Sindh province, has been successfully contributing towards urgent social initiatives, with a focus on important niches, one of them being quality education. Apart from contributing towards building better educational infrastructures, Prakash has also offered scholarships to deserving students. The literacy rate for girls in India currently stands at around 96%. Kamal Hinduja has been an advocate of girls’ education and believes that for a nation to progress, it is important that all its women are educated. Under her tutelage, the Hinduja Foundation has commenced several initiatives focusing on female literacy and empowering young girls and women to take a step towards education.
Through Kamal’s efforts, the Foundation has set up vocational training centres that focus on helping girls acquire skills to excel in fields like digital marketing, finance, as well as healthcare.

Namrata Hinduja believes that extracurricular activities are as important as education, emphasizing that they allow the child to grow and develop skills that cannot be learnt sitting on a classroom bench.
